ASHA NIKETAN SCHOOL OF NURSING, (ANSN), is a nursing educational institution in Bhopal, the City of Lakes. ASHA NIKETAN HOSPITAL AND REHABILITATION CENTER has earned its reputation through serving the disadvantaged, needy, delivering good quality health care and rehabilitative services. It has a long history of working in association with communities, educational institutions, local bodies and Governments. Our nursing school is committed to capacity building Education, Training and Research work in Nursing.

PHILOSOPHY
Asha Niketan School of nursing believes that its philosophy of life guides its behavior, what it does and why it does. Thus a nurse becomes diligent in her duties and holds responsibilities for her behavior. This guides her future especially in the nursing profession.
Our institution affirms that the nursing profession should be self-governing and directed by nurses. She will participate in professional organizations and accept responsibilities and leadership roles whenever requested.
We believe in training the nurses towards fullest development of religious, moral, intellectual, emotional and social qualities to be good citizens. We believe that curriculum of the School of Nursing should be based on Christian values and scientific principles, which will enable the student to gain knowledge and skills for rendering comprehensive nursing care in the hospital and in the community.

AIMS

• To prepare nurses with a sound educational programme in nursing and to enable them to function as efficient and effective members of a health team, beginning with competencies for first level positions in all kinds of health care settings.
• To help nurses develop the ability to co-operate and co-ordinate with members of the health team in the prevention of diseases, promotion of health and rehabilitation of the sick.
• To help nurses in their personal and professional development, so that they are able to make a positive contribution to the Society as useful and productive individuals, citizens as well as efficient nurses.
• To serve as a base for further professional education and specialization in nursing.
• To prepare nurses to keep pace with latest professional and technological developments and use them for providing health care services.

OBJECTIVES
ASHA NIKETAN SCHOOL OF NURSING, on completion of the course, endeavours to train a nurse, making her:

• Professionally competent to provide health care to individuals - both sick and healthy - by using the nursing process. She will be skilled enough to provide effective nursing care for maintaining the best possible level of health of an individual and of a community.
• Competent enough to evaluate effectiveness of nursing care and assess the nursing need of clients from birth to death. Promote self-care in people under her care.
• Able to demonstrate competency in providing comprehensive nursing care based on concepts and principles from behavioural, biological, physical and medical sciences.
• Able to demonstrate use of ethical values in her personal and professional life.
• Able to recognize the need of continuing education for professional development.
• Able to demonstrate basic skills in administration and leadership while working with other members of the health team and community.
• Able to function effectively with members of the health team and community applying the knowledge of human relations and communication skills in her work.
• Able to participate as member of the health team in delivery of curative preventive, promotive and rehabilitative health care services.
• Able to mobilize community resources and their involvement in working with the communities.

OUR MISSION
To educate young aspiring women to achieve the optimal health through knowledge and skills, to be competent to face all situations and be proficient in dealing with the preventive, curative and promotive aspects of professional and efficient nursing care for individuals, family, society and world at large.
