SNA WEEK

Asha Niketan School of Nursing celebrated SNA week with various cultural and sports activities from 10th July to 11th July every students participated in the activities.

Welcoming the General Councilors

Hearty Welcome – The Asha Niketan Campus came together in harmony to welcome the general councilors of Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery. Welcomed the sisters in a different traditional cultures of the different states it followed by a short cultural program.

World AIDS Day 2023

World AIDS day is celebrated on first December to promote health and spread awareness among the society and whole population. On this day the nursing students performed an act in Asha Niketan Hospital.

World Mental Health Day 2023

Mental health day is observed on 10^th October every year. The theme for mental health day of this year is ‘Mental health is the universal human right’. On this day the students of GNM second year performed the skit on the topic ‘Mental health is the universal human right’ at the Asha Niketan Hospital. The main purpose of the celebration was to uphold the dignity of the patient who is mentally affected.

Lamp Lighting and Graduation Ceremony 2023

Lamp lighting and graduation ceremony was held on 26 August, 2023. Chief Guest was Most Rev. Dr. A. A. Sebastian Durairaj SVD, Archbishop of Bhopal Arch Diocese. The solemn ceremony was followed by multiple cultural programs. The theme of the program was arise and shine it was a wonderful and a proud moment. Prizes were distributed for the SNA activity winners and for the academic outstanding students. The programme ended with a vote of thanks.

Independence Day

On the auspicious day of 77th Independence Day of our country, inter group celebrations was organised in the campus on 15 August, 2023. The students of Asha Niketan School of Nursing participated in the celebration and performed fusion folk dance. The folk dance conveyed the message of joy, victory, love, unity, peace, prosperity and health to every individual in the country.

Cultural Day

Asha Niketan School of Nursing not only focuses on the medical studies but it also platforms the hidden talents of the students. So, the school Principal along with the faculty organised a one day fashion and Glam competition on 17 June, 2023, where the students participated enthusiastically showing their love for fashion and makeup.

Sports Day

It was the day that created an immense joy and excitement in each and every member of the school, which also gave a nostalgic feeling, remembering the old school days and took us back to our childhood. Asha Niketan School of Nursing organised a sports day on 10^th June, 2023. The sports day was declared open by our Principal Sr. Beena and further carried out by the day’s events. All the students and staff participated with full vigor and enthusiasm and everyone had a great day.

Environment Day

Save plants, save lives. The 5th of June is celebrated as “World Environment Day”. Due to the growing pollution and technology our earth is suffering and so are the humans. In order to heal the world and make it a better place the students of Asha Niketan enthusiastically cleaned the surrounding and planted trees, and also watered the plants and took a step forward into uplifting the quality of our environment. When this much wasn’t enough we also came out to protest against use of plastic, made posters and banners in order to make the rally more effective. For the love of our mother earth we raised our voices strongly opposing against deforestation and pollution. The motive of the rally was to teach ourselves as well as the people around us the right use of resources and the importance of greenery. These little steps towards development helped us to creative a better place for the human race.

Nurses Day

Nurses Day was celebrated on 12th of May 2023. The birthday of Florence Nightingale, mother of modern nursing. Asha Niketan School of Nursing Bhopal is preparing nurses who follows the human values, devoted towards their profession and are molding themselves to shine in the field of Medical Sciences. As the theme of the year “Our Nurses, Our Future” our school celebrated this auspicious day remembering the brave nurses who saved lives during the pandemic where the world had to suffer a lot. Not only during the pandemic but also celebrated the compromises made by each nurse including their families. The students staged cultural programs.

Community Health Nursing practice at Sai Baba Nagar

We the 1^st year students of Asha Niketan School of Nursing were posted for the “Community Health Nursing practice to the PHC and to the rural area of Bhopal ‘Sai Baba Nagar’. It started from 15^th of June under the supervision of Sr. Reetha”. The main objectives of this posting were to educate the people of the community about health, hygiene to reduce the growth of communicable disease, learn to visit the house, to do survey, to assess patients & community, to organize health talk and learn community bag technique. Various teaching method used to educate such as role play, charts and diet plan. The role play was on educating the “Girl Child”, and the diet was planned and cooked for an “Antenatal Mother”. The Community People were enthusiastic in learning and listening to us.

Clinical Experience

MSN or Medical Surgical Nursing is the most important as well as vast subject in Nursing in which the clinical posting is mandatory for this posting we were divided into two groups. On 2^nd March 2023 onwards we started our posting in a Multispecialty Hospital Asha Niketan and Lake City Hospital Bhopal. During our clinical posting we learned about various disease condition, its treatment, to observe the patients and their illness, to assist the patient, to provide various nursing care, to give health talk, provide basic knowledge about the disease condition, and prevention of diseases. The posting helped us to improve our nursing skills and knowledge.

Picnic

We the second year students of Asha Niketan School of Nursing went for a picnic to Fun city Water Park Bhopal on 28^th January 2023. We had a good time in the amusement park and the water kingdom by playing, swimming, sliding and experiencing the artificially created waves of the swimming pool. The People’s mall exposed us to the Seven Wonders of the World. We got to learn many new things about the city and the people. It was a great day with new experiences.

Fresher’s Day

Fresher’s Day was celebrated on 15, April 2023 with games and cultural programme. Ms. Ashimi Sonar had been crowned as Miss Asha Niketan. Ms. Nanci Rai and Ms. Simran Rai were the runner up.
